4.03.09

You are all making very good progress with your film openings. You now have just two weeks to finish your work. There will be no extensions, not because we are mean but because we are out of time.

Additional editing time is available most evenings afetr school and during lunchtimes by arrangement.

6.02.09

Well done for last Wednesday to all of you who showcased your draft film. The films are coming together well and look promising. You now need to follow a tight schedule to complete your film openings on time. Because of the disruption to lessons, here are some revised deadlines.
All re-filming to be completed by the first lesson back after half term: 25.02.09.
All editing to be completed by the end of the third week back: 13.02.09.
show-casing and evaluation of final films during week beginning 16.03.09.

In the meantime you need to keep your blogs up to date. Please also take the time to look at the following web-site: "Long Road Media". It contains examples of blogs created by students following the same course as you. They are excellent examples from which you can learn.

January 2009

To all year 12 media students,

Happy New Year and welcome back.

You have a busy term ahead of you. Your main task over the next four weeks is to film and edit your opening sequence. This needs to be done by the end of January. Unlike the preliminary task, this needs to be a highly polished piece of work. Make sure you film everything several times then review your footage to check whether or not you need to re-film. Leave yourselves plenty of time to edit.

You also need to keep your blog up to date. Your deconstructions from last term now need to be on your blog and you need to keep a "diary" of the whole production process for your film, including the reasons for the decisions and revisions you make.

Week beginning 1st December

For the second week in a row we have lost our lesson on Wednesday because of the outreach party. This means you will have to do more work on your planning in your own time.

On Friday we will work on your planning in period 2. In period 4 we will showcase your preliminary tasks so they need to be ready. Your planning, including your storyboard/photoboard and your written proposal need to be complete by 10th December.
